Pre- booked 90-minute programmes are offered, at no charge, for a range of school age classes from Grade 2 -10. Following an initial video presentation and introductory session, groups of up to a total of 50 students and supervisors are taken on a guided tour through the museum. Using a technique of selective interpretation of specific items and displays, a variable story line is created that matches the age, language skills, curriculum studies, and interests of the class. Senior school grades and college level groups are provided with an introductory session and briefing on the collection, following which they are allowed a self-guided study of the museum, supplemented by selected highlighting and explanations of displays upon request.

Pre-booked tours, of variable length, are offered at no charge to adult groups of 10 - 50 individuals, according to the schedule of the tour group. The programme follows the same pattern as that used for senior school age groups.

For groups of less than 10 people or casual visitors the museum is made available on a self-guided tour basis following a brief introductory orientation session. An average individual visitor stays within the display area for 25 -35 minutes.

Upon request, an external speaking engagement can be arranged for groups, organizations and societies. Using slides and selected artifacts from the archives and reserve collection, speaking engagements have taken place across North America and in the United Kingdom. In addition, the Redpath Sugar Museum has co-operated with other corporations and museums, acting in a consultative capacity for the development of feasibility studies or the direct development of museum exhibits, display systems, galleries, and entire museums.
